To find information about companies, take a look at this Company Information LibGuide created by Kim Bloedel from the Pomerantz Business Library.  It contains links to a number of databases that can provide high quality information on public and private companies, and, in some cases, non-profit organizations as well.

It's a good idea to learn more about a potential employer before applying for a job and especially before interviewing.  Being aware of a company's history, its products and services, its subsidiaries, its financial performance, it competitors, and current news about the company can be invaluable.  With this type of information close at hand, you can better tailor your application materials (cover letter, resume, etc.) to the job and you will be better prepared for an interview.
