Are you feeling a bit retro and want to actually type something with a typewriter?

Unfortunately, there are no typewriters available to the public in the Main Library, and likewise, the Iowa City Public Library no longer has one.

But you are not out of luck!

The good folks at Public Space One (PS1) have an Art Equipment Lending Library which currently includes an Olympia typewriter and a Remington Quiet-Riter typewriter in their inventory. You will need to talk to them about becoming a PS1 Member, which requires a donation, but that amount is flexible depending on your situation. Please be in touch with them directly for more information.

(P.S. If you discover any other options for tracking down a typewriter please let us know in the comments below!)
