Did you lose something at the Main Library?

If so, please ask at the Service Desk on the first floor to see if someone has turned it in. It never hurts to check around where you last remember sitting in the library to see if your item is still there. If you're not currently in the building, you can contact Main Library staff for assistance at 319-335-5299.

We keep lost and found items temporarily at the Service Desk, but if the items are not claimed quickly, they will be sent on to the University Lost and Found Office which is located in the University Capitol Centre (UCC)/Old Capitol Town Center at 201 S Clinton St., room 139. Please see their website for more information about hours, contact information, and how you can search their online Crowdfind tool to see if your lost item is in their inventory.

Did you find someone's personal item in the Main Library?

As part of the University of Iowa community, please help your fellow Hawkeyes by taking a moment to turn in lost items to the Service Desk. The nice thing you do today could be the nice thing that happens to you tomorrow!
