Goethe's Werke database consists primarily of the Weimar Edition of Goethe's works, originally published between 1887-1919 by Hermann Böhlau (and Nachfolger) under the patronage of Grosshezogin Sophie von Sachsen and hence often referred to as the Sophien-Ausgabe. It is supplemented by material not found in the Weimar Edition. For assistance, go to the subject guide to German Literature.

From a campus computer the Geothe's Werke database seems to be working. Are you on campus? If you are off campus the non-subscription link may not work. Or the database might be a free resource provided to institutions.

Is this the link you used? http://quod.lib.umich.edu/g/goethe/. Or try this link from the Libraries' A-Z database website: http://guides.lib.uiowa.edu/go.php?c=4684719
