You might use InterLibrary Loan or UBorrow to request the material from another library. Or you can recall the UI Libraries' copy from the person who has already checked out the item: in InfoHawk+, you must first sign in to your account. Using the Find in Library tab, click on the Request link. Though InterLibrary Loan may locate an available item sooner than a local user's recall, in either case you should expect to wait 5 to 10 working days before the item becomes available for you. Staff will send a notice (usually an e-mail notice) informing you that the book is being held for you.
You can also request that a librarian purchase a second copy for our collection. See My Personal Library menu (above) or click here: http://www.lib.uiowa.edu/forms/recommend/
