State Historical Society of Iowa (SHSI): The State Historical Society of Iowa collections include archival photographs and publications, county records and state agency records in two research centers--the Iowa City Centennial Building and the Des Moines SHSI. Location information in each catalog record indicates if an item is available in Iowa City, in Des Moines, or in both places. Our library catalog contains records for a small percentage of the Society's library and archival collections. For information and research assistance, please call the Iowa City research center at (319) 335-3916 or the Des Moines center at (515) 281-6200. The State Historical Society of Iowa libraries do not lend books or periodicals (unless sent between the Iowa City and Des Moines facilities). For their hours and services, browse their government website: https://iowaculture.gov/history/research/research-centers/visit
