Where can I find the distribution of family income - GINI Index?
Answer
From the Lippincott Library, the Datapoints blog post I Dream of Gini provides an explanation of Gini and resources. A principle source is Bloomberg, available on select computers in the Business Library.
Consult the World Income Inequality Database (WIID) from the UN's University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER). Users can download data or use the interactive visualization tool. WIID is considered the largest database of GINI coefficients.
WDI Online has a GINI Index for select countries and years.
Go to Human Development Index (HDI) from the Human Development Report, United Nations Development Programme.
For historical data, see the World Bank page Measuring Income Inequality (Deininger and Squire) Database 1890-1996.
