How do I find out an equity's weighting within all the indexes it belongs to?

Answer

Use Bloomberg, available on select computers in the Business Library.

  • Type the ticker symbol, hit the <EQUITY> key, type WGT, and then hit <GO>.
  • For example, type IBM, hit <EQUITY>, type WGT, and then hit <GO>.
  • For information on a particular index, select the index and then type DES for a description of the index, its constituent members, price, etc.
