How can I find data on the historical implied volatility of an equity?

Answer

Use Bloomberg, available on select computers in the Business Library.

  • Type HIVG then hit <GO> for the historical implied volatility graph function.
  • Combine this with your equity of choice, e.g. IBM <EQUITY> HIVG <GO>.
