Are you looking for some assistance in getting started with your research project? Here are some options!

  • Drop by to talk to a librarian
    • You can drop by one of the service points in any of the libraries on campus and ask for help.
    • At the Main Library, the "Just Ask" desk on the first floor is staffed with librarians from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. M-F, and we have evening research assistance available from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. Sunday - Thursday.
  • Make an appointment with a librarian
    • If you want to schedule a time to meet with a librarian, request a research consultation. We can meet you in person or on Zoom.
  • Use a Guide (created by librarians)
    • Guides will give you a good starting point for research in a discipline/subject area or for a particular course
  • The Assignment Calculator
    • This tool from the University of Minnesota Libraries can help you pace yourself with your research project. Just enter the due date!

There are other services on campus that may also be able to get you the help you need.
