Are you printing from your own laptop or from one of our desktop computers?

Print from your laptop to a UI Print Station

  1. Connect to the Eduroam wifi network (if you aren’t already connected).
  2. Go to https://printing.its.uiowa.edu .
(Search Google for uiowa papercut to find this URL if you forget it.)
  3. Login to PaperCut with your HawkID/password.
Note: You can only print double-sided if you use the PaperCut system to print.
  4. Click Web Print in the left column.
  5. Click Submit a Job button and follow the prompts:
    • Choose BW (black/white) or COLOR printer (labeled ITC-BW or ITC-COLOR)
    • Select the number of copies you need
  6. Upload your document .
(click and drag or click the “Upload from computer” button to search for your document)
  7. Click the Upload and Complete button – You will see a link that says “Held in queue”
  8. Walk to a Print Station and enter your HawkID (just the first part…not @uiowa.edu) to release the print job.

Print from a library computer*

  1. Open your document on any computer in the library.
  2. Open the print dialog from the program you are using (click print).
  3. Choose the black & white or the color printer.
  4. Choose the options in the dialog box you want. For instance, you might want single-sided printing.
  5. Print.
  6. Walk to a Print Station and enter your HawkID (just the first part…not @uiowa.edu) to release the print job.

*(This is the preferred method of printing when the online PaperCut system is in heavy use.)

Visitors of the UI Libraries may use the wireless network, UI-Guest, or may request a Guest Pass to log onto desktop computers in order to print. Visitors must purchase a PrintKey (sold at the Food-for-Thought Cafe in Main Library) in order to print. Directions for using the PrintKey are found here: https://its.uiowa.edu/support/article/2455.
