SCANNERS. To scan book pages, articles or other items, you may use walk-up or flatbed scanners in the Main Library:

  • Four large-format self-service photo-imaging scanners located on 1st floor east lobby and the Service Commons, central.
KIC Bookeye-4® and BookEdge scan images that may be saved on USB drive or sent via e-mail.
3 scanners are located near the Main Library Service Desk, 1st floor. One scanner near the east exit on Madison Street, 1st floor Learning Commons.
  • A number of flatbed scanners alongside desktop computers in the Learning Commons and Main I.T.C.s.
  • For university scan/imaging business services visit University Printing Services in the Mossman Building, ph. (319)335-2699 or Copy Center 3, ph. (319)335-0861, in the Pappajohn Business Building room C102.
  • The Sciences Library as well as Business, Engineering, Art and the Hardin Library for the Health Sciences also provide a walk-up scanner. The Rita Benton Music Library services provide a large-format scanner (11x17 inches) at their downtown location in the Voxman Music Building. See hours for all libraries and departments.

PHOTOCOPIES. To photocopy items in the Main Library, there is a photocopy machine near the scanners on 1st floor. Note: Photocopiers accept cash only—including quarters, dimes, nickels, one- and five-dollar bills. Copies cost 15¢ each. For more about photocopying in the UI Libraries, see self-service copying.

Departments within the Main Library may also provide photocopy services.
