Do you need some quiet? Do you need to make a call or be in an online meeting?

Please try our new "Hush Booth" to briefly meet your needs. It's located in the hallway on the second floor, on the south side of the building.

We are currently letting everyone use it on a first come/first served basis. We'd like to encourage people to use it briefly and only for as long as you need the privacy for a conversation on the phone or online.

If it's occupied and you need a space of your own, here are a couple of alternative options:

  • Grab an open group room on the first floor.
    • Follow the step-by-step instructions for reserving a group room at https://www.lib.uiowa.edu/commons/group-spaces/
    • Make sure to reserve an enclosed study room by choosing a room with label that follows the format: ERM-LIB-ColorNumber
  • Get one of the 4-hour Undergraduate Study room keys from the Service Desk
    • Please note that these rooms are not soundproof, so you need to be mindful of your volume while using these rooms.
  • Use the One Button Studio.  It is soundproof and comfortable.  You can reserve it the same way you would with the group rooms.

Please respect the quiet areas of the library while others are studying.
