A patron needs to check out the Anatomical Models. Can you walk me through the steps?

Answer

The anatomical models are currently located behind the Service Desk. We recently changed this and may change other things as we work on streamlining the checkout process for the models. We will do our best to keep this page current. Please let us know if you notice any incorrect information that needs updating.

A binder is available behind the Service Desk with visuals of the anatomical models in alphabetical order according to the table of contents. Barcodes are on the actual models, some with QR codes containing additional information per model.

  • Loan time for any model is 2 hours. Please encourage/ask patrons to use the models on the “library” side of the building (do not take them outside the gates to the Library Commons).
  • One model can be checked out per patron at a time. Due to the limited number of models, the Library encourages students to share them.
  • Most of the models are comprised of more than 1 piece. When loaned or returned, a “note” will pop up indicating the number of pieces for that item. Please ensure all pieces are included before returning/checking in a model.
  • When a patron returns an anatomical model, remember to scan it to avoid fines and fees being applied to the student's account.
  • Searching for the models in InfoHawk+ under “anatomical models” (plural) will provide a list of all available models. They’re also listed in the course reserve module under course HHP:1100 and 1150/instructor Kelli Taeger.
