Yes! Most of the items in The Perch are periodicals from our circulating collection. If they are marked with a UI Libraries barcode, then they can be checked out for a one-week loan. 'Just use your UI ID or community borrower card to checkout materials at the Service Desk or the Self-Check Kiosk.

You might also consider scanning as an option rather than checking things out. Try one of the scanners (located between The Perch and the Service Desk) to send yourself a pdf through email straight from the machine or save your scan to a USB. If you need help, please ask at the Service Desk.

One last thing... all of the magazines and journals you see in The Perch have an online version that you can search by using The Perch Guide. Please get in touch if you need any help!
